Johannes Steinbauer

Johannes Steinbauer grew up in a household of 4th-generation carpenters. Fascinated by the craftsmanship, he followed in his familys footstep and trained as a cabinet maker. After working for several years and receiving his master certificate in 2006, he went to study industrial design at Hochschule fr Gestaltung in Schwbisch-Gmnd.

From 2011 to 2012 he worked for Studio Michael Geldmacher in Munich, and in 2012 he founded his own studio located in an old workshop. Johannes Steinbauer is working with an intuitive approach to design led by a fascination of craftsmanship. He always strives for an efficient, precise, almost naive solution that translates into a strong, characteristic design language.
