The designer as a specialist in life styles. Convinced that design is not simply objects, Christophe Pillet is one of the most important French designers of his generation. Born in 1959, he has lived and worked in Paris since 1988.
A designer who graduated with a diploma in Decorative Arts at Nice in 1985 and with a Master from the Milan Domus Academy in 1986, he worked with Martine Bedin for two years. Following that he worked with Philippe Starck from 1988 to 1993, before starting his own independent activities. He works in numerous sectors, including design for furniture and products, interior architecture and stage sets.
In 1994 he was elected creator of the year at the Salon du Meuble. He also does interior architecture of boutiques, hotels and restaurants such as the Sezz in Paris. Recently he has created the interior of the Catherine Malandrino boutique in the Meat Packing District of New York, and in 2006 the Sony showroom in Paris.
His current projects include a residential development in Marrakesh, for Pillet, a restaurant in Prague and the Hotel Sezz soon to be opened at Saint Tropez.
